Leave your dressing on!

This is vital. Your tattoo is a fresh – and more importantly open – wound, and if you were to take the dressing off on your commute home, you’d be exposing your new tattoo to the bacteria outside of the sterile environment found in our shop. That’s why we advise wholeheartedly to leave your dressing on as advised by your tattooist, usually for a minimum of 7 days.

Keep your tattoo clean

You need to keep your new tattoo clean, for the same reasons we mentioned earlier. If you keep it clean (using unscented or anti-bacterial soaps!) then not only are you going to avoid infection, but you are going to keep the tattoo looking its best for years to come.

Do not pick your scab!

We know. It seems really simple. But if you pick the scab off your healing tattoo, then it isn’t going to hold its colour, or its detail, very well. If you do, it will mean a whole load more pain, both physically and financially, later down the line when you need to have the tattoo touched up.
